He has been appointed as the next Secretary General of Amnesty International and will take charge in June. 1.)I was born on November 30, 1835. My real name is Samuel Langhorne Clemens. But people know me better as ____X____ ___Y____ the story behind which (my name) is :- I worked for many years on Mississippi riverboats, where two fathoms, a depth indicating "safe water" for the boat to float over, was measured on the sounding line. "___Y___" is an archaic term for "two". The riverboatman's cry was "___X___ ___Y___" or, more fully, "by the ___X___ ___Y___", meaning "according to the mark on the line, the depth is two fathoms" i.e. "there are 12 feet (3.7 m) of water under the boat and it is safe to pass".
